Techniques

  Soo Bahk Do is a classical martial art with over 2,000 years of history and is a traditional Korean discipline. It boast a unique integration of hard and soft techniques with strong combat and self defense applications.

Cirriculum

          The art of Soo Bahk Do involves the developement of Neh Gung (Internal Energy), Weh Gung (External Energy), and Shim Gung (Mental Power). These human attributes are developed simultaneously through the practice of the combat oriented movements. The training is systematic , beginning with step by step instruction in the methodology of each technique, conditioning of the body and philosophical grounding in the basic concepts of training. The cirriculum can be divided but not limited to these main categories :

One-Step Sparring ( Il Soo Sik Dae Ryun)

Three Step Sparring ( Sam Soo Sik Dae Ryun)

Free Sparring ( Ja Yu Dae Ryun)

Self - Defense ( Ho Sin Sool)

Breaking ( Kyok Pa)

Long Staff (Jang Bong)

Knife (Tanto)

    Dolby Soo Bahk Do also incorporates tatics for ground fighting into the training regimen. Generally focusing on escaping, controlling, striking, gouging and submission techniques. A strong emphasis on the ability to gain one's feet and situational awareness over takedowns and pins is also taught to students.
